How much roof space does rooftop solar need?
Understand panel dimensions, roof access, shading and layout before choosing solar capacity for your Hyderabad property.

Start with the usable roof
A roof’s total area is not the same as the area available for panels. Water tanks, staircases, vents, skylights, shaded corners and maintenance access all affect the layout. A school campus, hospital or industrial shed may have several roof sections with different constraints.
Calculate the panel footprint
Panel count multiplied by the selected module’s length and width gives the module footprint. It does not include access paths, required clearances or spacing between tilted rows. Ask for the exact module dimensions and a proposed layout rather than relying on one square-foot figure for every project.
Check structure and installation details
The roof type, condition, load capacity, waterproofing and mounting arrangement need review before installation. Electrical routes and safe access for cleaning also belong in the survey. A rooftop photograph can help start the conversation, but it does not establish structural suitability.
What to request in your proposal
Ask for the panel quantity, module wattage, total DC capacity, inverter AC rating and a roof layout showing access. For an initial Arkasri assessment, share electricity bills, a site location and available roof drawings or photographs.
